I've been a little late in catching up with CW's quirky hospital comedy Emily Owens M.D, being late to the game has its perks and its downside. First of all I got to see all the currently three aired episodes in a go, but now I just want more. Yes, in my books its that good.
Now I'm not some big shot critic, but let me say this any one who thinks E.R and House were great hospital dramas and Grey's Anatomy isn't the best and Private Practice was fun until it was boring and Hart Of Dixie and others like it are doing well for God knows what reason, then they are going to like this show. Plus you need to be in the stage of life I am in, the part where I'm an adult but am just discovering it isn't much different, or at least remember what it felt like.
Its an interesting show, with good acting and the humour is subtle, not too in your face, which I really really appreciate. Not to forget the chemistry between the lead and the only two guys who count is fantastic. I'm mostly hoping that Michael gets to be with the girl but right now I'm happy with the whole she's in a new world, which isn't different from high school.
What is interesting about this show is that it captures a very basic fact of life that many of us forget, high school or O'levels or any other education system which one attends during their adolescent years is a training ground for the real world. Of course there are those who out grow their childish ways but the bumps on the road are so real.
Now I'm worried as this show has really low ratings, which I personally don't get. Its a good show, and it is enjoyable and fun. Why is it not faring well? I wonder and then I think if Hart Of Dixie survives so should this one, because anyone can see this is miles better.
So to those who like hospital dramas you have to catch this one, you will like it for in my brain I don't see a reason for not liking it. Its good entertainment with just the right amount of heart in it. I'm not saying its unique for it isn't, its got the same a few cases, focus on a character and her love, personal and professional life. It has so much potential that I just want so many more episodes.
